As a part of that work, PRI will have the opportunity to build, develop, and support the implementation and sustainability of leaders, systems, and organizations who are working to move equitable outcomes in the areas of family engagement, community schools, service, and civic infrastructure to ensure all rural students succeed. PRI is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer, Community Schools Support to join the Learning and Knowledge Management Team to design and develop learning experiences to build families’ capacity to be actively involved and engaged in their child’s education from cradle to career. Position Summary The Instructional Designer, Community Schools Support, is a subject-matter expert in facilitating and coordinating academic, social, and health services within the school community and will report directly to the Associate Director of Learning and Knowledge Management to collaborate with school districts and key partners to design curricula that focuses on improving cradle-to-career competencies within a Full-Service Community Schools model. The Instructional Designer provides curriculum and instructional support for the planning, implementation, and operation of full-service community schools that improve the coordination, integration, accessibility, and effectiveness of services for children and families, particularly for children attending high-poverty schools, including high-poverty rural schools. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with schools and key grant partners to develop research-based instructional strategies and create innovative synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for adults and children that remove barriers and support student success along the cradle-to-career path. This position will integrate Results Based Facilitation and Accountability frameworks in partnership meetings, improvement strategies, and project design activities. The Instructional Designer, Community Schools Support operates with the goal in mind that all rural students succeed. Primary Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to conduct place-based needs assessments on learners and contexts to identify learning needs. • Develop curriculum, implement instructional programs, and create online learning material, content, and assessment tools. • Identify target audience learning objectives and create engaging and innovative content for both synchronous and asynchronous instruction that enhances retention and transfer for both adult and child learners. • Apply research-based and tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.), exercises, and activities that enhance the learning process. • Create assessment criteria and instruments used to assess learner performance on the cradle-to-career continuum. • Utilize the Learning Management System (Talent LMS) and other online tools to enhance the learning experience. • Collaborate with a team to analyze data to assess learner retention and transfer. • Perform related duties to meet program objectives. Position Location & Schedule The Instructional Designer is a remote work position with local, state, and sometimes national travel required.     Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because of the nature of the responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and to the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours. Minimum Qualifications Education required to ensure success in this position: • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Education, educational technology, Curriculum Development, etc.). Experience required to ensure success in this position: • Three years professional experience in instructional and curriculum design. • Previous experience in instructional design for both adult and child learners required. • Experience developing curriculum, curriculum maps, lesson plans, evaluation rubrics, and resource materials for adult learning, cradle-to-career competencies, family engagement practices, community schools and pre-K-12 educational work. • Experience with curriculum that supports elementary education, middle grades education, secondary and postsecondary education, family engagement, outreach/wrap-around services, national service models, and community school frameworks. • Experience using interactive experiential learning strategies and adult development/leadership strategies in culturally diverse settings. • A strong personal commitment to the mission of Partners for Rural Impact with the gravitas to influence the Partners for Rural Impact result that All Rural Students Succeed. • Demonstrated experience and commitment working in and with rural communities. • Demonstrated success in a complex, fast-paced, high-performing organization, with the ability to prioritize projects and work cross-functionally. • Able to multitask and work independently.         Special skills, knowledge and abilities: • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of adult learning, cradle-to-career competencies, family engagement practices, community schools and pre-K-12 educational work. • Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment, for both adult and child learners. • Initiative, creativity, willingness to learn, and ability to juggle multiple tasks independently. • Highly self-motivated, professional and capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities. • Ability to synthesize and communicate complex information in a clear and effective manner. • Friendly and professional demeanor.
