The Goalsetter app contains financial quizzes with memes for those of all ages, a stock brokerage platform, unique savings tools like auto-save and round ups, a debit card for teens and even creative ways for kids to earn cash through allowance and chores. The Goalsetter classroom platform is being built to contain K-12 student-paced and teacher-led financial literacy curriculum based on the National Standards for Personal Financial Education and state standards as needed. The modules are based on six pillars of personal finance and each lesson is anchored by a Goalsetter video. Additional products are being added to include family based learning tools and other curricular offerings made specifically for individual client needs. Job Description As part of our robust financial literacy and education program, we are continuously iterating on our curricular offerings in the D2L/Brightspace platform. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with content writers to design interactive elements that align to the learning outcomes, objectives, and assessments for each lesson. Join us and pitch in to make sure every student in the United States has access to high-quality instructional materials that empower them to understand personal finance and develop healthy relationships with money. Responsibilities The Instructional Designer will build interactive activities that are highly engaging, pedagogically sound, aligned with national and state standards, and responsive to student needs. Commit to creating exceptional learning experiences for K-12 students across the United States. • Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning team, Product team, and content writers to create online learning content and activities for K-12 students. • Craft a wide variety of engaging learning experiences and compelling course content that verifiably enhances student engagement and academic success. • Use pedagogical best practices to design accessible, clearly structured, and easy-to-use activities that anticipate student needs, struggles, and questions within a classroom setting. • Build content that conforms to WCAG requirements for accessibility. • Proofread, revise, and edit work prior to submitting; ensure consistent format and tone by following provided style guidelines. Become a valued member of the Teaching and Learning team at Goalsetter. • Consistently attend weekly meetings to advise on learner needs and design requirements and regularly report on project progress. • Contribute to the creation of efficient workflows and openly communicate risks to timelines and quality. • Work with course authors to design online courses using current methodologies, technology, and pedagogical best practices. • Confer with project teams and clients to gather technical requirements on instructional methods and materials related to specific course subjects. Contribute creative, fresh perspectives on ways to make our curricular offerings more engaging, relatable, and tied to best practices. • Research and provide recommendations on current trends in instructional design and online learning. • Advocate for technologies and processes that enhance learner experiences. • Remain flexible, creative, and responsive to the fast-paced and ever-changing needs of a startup environment.
